Black Eye

We were playing around in the schoolyard, I was 9. All I can remember is receiving a hit to the back of the head, which sent me flying onto the metal balustrade, right on my forehead.

I may have fainted or cried, I’m not sure. The only thing I’m sure of, is seeing a powerful flash of colors!

I almost lost my left eye, which was black for the entire year, shifting from violet to blue, green to yellow, with a thick layer of red. I watched the rainbow colors taking turns on my face with confused astonishment.

A child isn’t capable of recognizing the dangers or the concerns of parents.

However, this particular child, was only focused on the colors.
