Valse Ephemere – Abdelrahman El Bacha
Piano played by Dr. Tony Karam
Each painting comes with a CD containing the full version of the music which inspired it.
Winner of the Queen Elizabeth Piano Competition in 1978, and a renowned worldwide pianist, composer, and member of the jury in multinational music competitions, El Bacha’s compositions build on a few bars of a melody to make a complete musical piece revolving around a few notes.
His interpretation of the drowning of a friend’s daughter (Marie) is one of the most beautiful tunes to be written for the piano.
The human spirit shall not drown.
